Baby Bedding FAQs

Should I purchase a convertible crib? Won’t it save me money?

That depends on whether or not you plan on having more children. If another baby is closely planned then a normal crib can be passed down to the next sibling. For some they can be great money savers, but keep in mind most convertible cribs require the purchase of an extra kit to convert them to the full sized bed.

Are travel systems worth the money?

Most parents appreciate the convenience and the appeal of a matching set, but in reality travel sets are rarely used to their full potential. The infant seat snaps onto the stroller, but the stroller can also be used without the seat making it a redundant feature for the most part. A regular stroller and a car seat with an easy to use base will work just as well.

I really like the idea of having a bedding set for the nursery, but I hear they are unsafe. Is this true?

Pediatricians are now recommending minimal bedding in nurseries. The only item that is truly required is a fitted sheet for the mattress. Crib bumpers can pose strangulation and ventilation hazards and children should not be put to sleep with a blanket in the crib.
